17. What is the evidence for acupuncture?

Acupuncture is recommended by the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) for the prevention of headache and migraine. Our College co-founder Dr Hugh MacPherson is one of the leading researchers in the UK and has carried out clinical trials and pioneering research studies using neuroimaging showing how the brain responds to acupuncture needles.
