21. What information do I need to apply for a student loan?

For students to be eligible for Student Loan Company (SLC) funding, they must be studying a designated course. Courses at the Northern College of Acupuncture are designated each year by the Department for Education. We have made an application for our BSc in Acupuncture to also be designated for the 2018-19 academic year. We expect this process to be completed in early summer 2018.

How to apply for a student loan varies according to where you live and your mode of study.  So there are different agencies you apply to, depending on whether you live in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.

Increasingly, applications are made on-line.  Information you will need to complete your application includes your national insurance number, passport number, and the course details.

Please note: There is no UCAS code for our courses as applications don't go through UCAS.
